For a machine which is constructed to lay foils onto the wall of a tunnel, we have been assigned to engineer and manufacture the proper hydraulic power drives. The design and the manufacturing of the hydraulic power unit, of several electrical control systems, of different specific hydraulic cylinders and of the motor drive units, has been done in-house by ATP Hydraulik.

This foil laying machine is currently used at the Koralmtunnel, in Deutschlandsberg, Austria.

Environment:
The Koralm Tunnel represents the core of the new 130 km long Koralmbahn, being set up between Graz and Klagenfurt, a twin-track high-speed line designed for speeds of up to 200 km/h estimated to cost in excess of 5 b. euros. It is a part of the Baltic-Adriatic axis of the TEN corridor 23 from Danzig via Warsaw and Vienna to Trieste, Venice and Bologna.
Two parallel, single-track tunnels each 20 km long will be built.
Planned construction time of the tunnel: 2011–2026.
